What is CDM Polo?
 

Corona del Mar Water Polo, also known as CDM Polo, is a club water polo program offering year round training and competition.  As a USA Water Polo Club, CDM Polo offers the following age group level teams: 

• 10 & Under
• 12 & Under
• 14 & Under
• 16 & Under
• 18 & Under

CDM Polo also offers Splashball. Splashball is an introduction to water polo program and is ideal for those new to water polo ages 6-10. More info on Splashball.

Does my athlete need prior water polo experience?
 

No, we encourage everyone to give water polo a try. We offer a one week practice free trial! 

How do I register my athlete?
 

Your athlete will need to be registered each session for his/her age group level team. Registrations open prior to each session start date and can be found on the registration page. Age group sessions are offered seasonly while splashball sessions are offered monthly.

Age Group Sessions

• Fall (September - November)
• Winter (December - February)
• Spring (March - May)
• Summer (May - July)

We encourage athletes to play year round. Please communicate with your coach if you have other commitments to work out what works best.

When are games and tournaments?
 

Games and tournaments are offered for age group teams. All league and tournament dates are listed on the competition page and can also be found on the calendar. Game locations and times are TBD and released the week of the games. Session registration fees do not include games. You must register your athlete for each individual league or tournament prior to the start date. Tournament/league registrations can be found on the competition page.

Athletes must also be registered with USA Water Polo in order to play in games. Please see the registration page for more info.

How does age eligibility work, what team will my athlete be on?
 

Age group teams are based on USA Water Polo competition levels. USA Water Polo uses an age as of date to determine 14 & under, 12 & under status etc.

The USA Water Polo age as of date is August 1st.  Therefore the age of your athlete on/after August 1st  determines what age level they will compete in.

For example, if a player is 12 years old on August 1, they are eligible to compete in the 12&U division. If an athlete turns 13 on July 30, his/her age is 13 on August 1st and is therefore no longer eligible for the 12&U division. They are, however, able to participate in the 14&U division.
